Right now we are near capacity so if you’re planning on buying registration on site or bringing someone with that didn’t pre-register, get there early. Back in June, it was announced on a flyer within the newly released Macross Plus Blu-Ray that a new 1/60 YF-19 was due early next year from the newly christened Arcadia Toy Company. This will be the first new mold of a Macross Toy since their debut in the beginning for the year. With a price point of 34400 円 in Japan, this will be one important test in the new company’s venture into Macross Toys. But the positive buzz within the fandom has made this one highly anticipated toy. And with all the accouterments it comes with, it’s hard to resist even at the high cost… not to mention it’s (expletive) beautiful!

Introducing this year’s Macross World Convention T-Shirt sponsored by Made Apparel. This shirt will be available for pre-order until October 3rd for people that want to pick it up at the Con. For everyone else that wants it delivered, it’ll be available to until Friday, October 4th to be shipped the following week. There will be 2 types of shirts available. Active, which is the regular weight shirt and Max Heavyweight, which is a heavier weight shirt that allows for the tall sizes that a lot of guys ask for. Both of these shirts will be available in a variety of color. Size and color charts are below.
Ladies and children’s sizes are also available upon request. Con Attendees must have payment in by Oct. 1st.
Hasegawa has release images of their 1/48 VF-1J Anniversario valkyrie. They previously released the 1/72 version but this release will coincide with their 1/48 VF with Strike Packs as reported here.
MWcon is hosting a special dinner with Tenjin as a special guest. This is a fundraising dinner and the cost is $150 per person. The dinner will be on October 4th, the night before the Convention at around 7pm in Redondo Beach. Space is very limited so if you want to be a part of this very intimate event, please email macrossworldconvention@gmail.com.

Los Angeles, CA (September 12th, 2013) – MacrossWorld Con 2013 announces an all-new competition, “Macross Idol”! This cosplay and talent contest welcomes all performers and cosplayers inspired by the popular anime franchise to the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, October 5th!
This exciting event offers entrants different ways to compete! Cosplay, singing, and other performances are encouraged. Prizes include Macross figures and other merchandise, and the winner will be crowned “Miss/Mister Macross”!

“Macross Idol” joins other scheduled activities, including a Bandai 1/55 VF-1 “Transformation Contest”, live art drawing competition, art gallery show, a “Nyan Nyan” Cafe, a concert and autograph session with voice actress and singer-songwriter Mari Iijima—the voice of Lynn Minmay in the original Macross TV series and motion picture, and a panel and autograph session with Hidetaka Tenjin, known for his stunning box art for Macross and other models, and for his work on the publications Macross Chronicle and Space Battleship Yamato Fact File.

After more than 3 years after the release of their first 1/48 VF-1 Valkyrie, Hasegawa finally announces their new kits that will include a strike pack. Model kit building Macross fans will be happy to finally give the classic VF-1 fighter some 0-G lovin’ sometime later this year. According to HLJ, they’ll be releasing the VF-1A/S kit.
Can’t wait to see the prototype…
Along side the Strke valkyrie, they’ll also be releasing the 30th Anniversario valkyrie designed by Tenjin in 1/48 (sans strike/super packs.)

Sorry I haven’t been able to update the toy and model news… long trips plus MWCon… less time. But here’s the new box art for the 1:72 VF-25F/S from Hasegawa as panted by Hidetaka Tenjin, of course! Goegeous as always. I can’t wait to see the build ups of these babies from our forum model masters!

Our special guest, Hidetaka Tenjin has graciously donated this wonderful autographed sketch of Roy Focker’s Strike Valkyrie. This original piece of art will be raffled at the 2013 Macross World Convention. Stay tune here for more info on the raffle.
As per request from the artist himself, only attendees of the Convention will have a chance to win this item. He wants to be able to hand it and take a photograph with the lucky winner.
