In January 2009, Publisher Kadokawa Shoten released Macross Ace. A magazine that was dedicated to the different aspects of the multiple generational series and included in it was manga that marked the return of Haruhiko Mikimoto to the world of Macross. In November 2009, they released Macross The First Vol. 1, a manga booklet that collected the first 2 chapters that was released in Macross Ace 1 & 2.

In November 2011, Dengeki Hobby Magazine announced that they will be doing a light serialization based on customized variations of different Macross mechs. Hasegawa will also produce model kits based on these customs that will be designed by Tenjin Hidetaka under the supervision of Shoji Kawamori himself. New characters will also be created for this new storyline.
All we know is that it’s going to be exclusive through their web shop. Everything else is speculation. Stay tune for more and watch the thread in the link below for more news.
It’s 2012!!! Where’s my real one!?!
Where are they now?
Welcome to another episode of The Vault where we try to archive a special section of the former Macross World HomePage.
Back in the early days of Macross Worldom, toys weren’t as easy pickens as they are now. Collectors were forced to bid against each other for vintage toys they’ve been saving up for since childhood. And those that weren’t lucky enough to win were forced to create! Out of the darkness came MWAT!
Em what?
No! MWAT! The Macross World Attack Team! These unlikely heroes took to resin, styrene and glue to make parts for themselves and others to convert their non mint and bootleg 1/55 toys into the valkyries they always wanted. Travel through the time tunnel called The Vault and peruse through their work. Back to the days when men were men and knives were exactos!
This has been another entry from the MWAT section of the MacrossWorld Legacy HomePage.
Graham was able to handle the SDF-1 before it was released in December 2010 and provided us a detailed write up. Take a look back at this review here.
Moving back once again to spotlight one of Macross’s finest treasures, we take a look at the first Valkyrie book by Macross artist Tenjin Hidetaka.
Released in April 2005, this collection highlights a lot of the box cover art from Hasegawa’s line of Valkyrie model kits and various Macross video games and DVD covers. He also did extensive work behind the scenes on Macross Zero and Macross Frontier (the latter is yet to be seen as this book was published before it’s release.)

As a way to show off our proud members’ various collections, a thread dedicated to displaying their toys, models, statues and misc. memorabilia was started by Kirik. Take a fascinating look at how collectors keep their hobbies within sight. From modest to madness, vintage to modern.

Yamato Toys surprised their collectors when they announced the 1/60 Fan Racer as a model kit. To be released at the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2009, this marked the first time Yamato has put out an unbuilt model kit. The fan racer, made of ABS plastic was relatively easy to put together, it even held together without any glue. The first release was in white and then it was subsequently released again in December in pearl gray as a set with the Angel 1/60 VF-1A Angel Bird custom scheme and then again in clear plastic with the Angle bird as a promotion in Macross Chronicle issue 48, April 2010. The first release lacked the Hikaru pilot figure but then it was included in the latter sets. I do believe HLJ offered the later Fan Racer releases by itself on their website.

2009 is a big year for everyone former of South Ataria Island, in particular Lynn Minmay. Not only did she get swept up into space and get hauled into a city built inside a space craft, but she also won the first ever Miss Macross Contest. In celebration of her win that very year, Hasegawa released this custom paint scheme for their 1/72 VF-1A model kit. Illustrated my Haruhiko Mikimoto and comes in a box with art by tenjin Hidetaka, this limited edition model kit was released in Japan September 2009.
