I would absolutely pay for the files if he were to make them available for sale.

Animeigo Macross Box Set - Black Cases vs Color Cases
Valkyrie replied to CryptCat's topic in Movies and TV Series
Looks like it could be! Kawamori was indeed at AX in 2016. And it looks pretty close to his autograph that I got in 2002. -
Yea, they can't be huge, if they couldn't justify making one more set of molds for this new version. But then again, that beam cannon is a pretty damn complicated part. It probably would have had to get broken down into a few smaller parts for it to be cast-able with silicone molds.

I finally got my Final Sortie Mave yesterday. It looks like it's the same as the Ramjet version, with the obvious addition of the beam cannon and generator turbine parts. But what I didn't expect is that the new parts are 3D printed resin! No real complaint, since the parts still look fantastic, but it's really surprising to see on a retail resin kit.

I remember those photos! It's really a shame that most of them were never released. I have one of their Banshee IV kits, and it's really impressive!

Damn, that's pretty tempting. At least this one won't have another crappy cockpit 😄

If anyone's interested, the "final sortie" version of the Mave is now available at HLJ. And only 4 months late! https://www.hlj.com/1-72-scale-supersylph-yukikaze-ffr-41mr-maeve-yukikaze-final-sortie-form-plzx-17

They're non-transformable, but on Cults3d, Minivalks has models of the VF-3000 in all 3 modes. That guy does incredible work. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/vf-3000-crusader https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/vf-3000-crusader-battroid-mode https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/vf-3000-crusader-gerwalk-mode

Wow! That thing looks incredible! I'd love to have one, but I don't know if I'd even have a place to display something that big.

That's a really impressive build, Indigo! I've been out of the loop for a while, and I was really surprised to see that Platz is producing Yukikaze kits again. They've even got a Mave with its full loadout from episode 5 due out this month! I've got one preordered at HLJ. Though I do also wish they would have given us a better cockpit by now. https://www.hlj.com/1-72-scale-supersylph-yukikaze-ffr-41mr-maeve-yukikaze-final-sortie-form-plzx-17

I found one more Gunbuster kit from Kaiyodo. Looks like they've taken that same soft vinyl kit and made an injection molded version of it. https://www.hlj.com/artpla-sculpture-works-gunbuster-noriko-takaya-kazumi-amano-absolute-defense-battle-of-the-solar-system-kyd19026 It's pretty crazy to see how many new models Gunbuster is getting for this anniversary, after getting next to nothing for the past 35 years!

Thanks for letting us know about those kits! It's about time someone made plastic kits of the ships! I don't know anything about that company, Bellfine, but I already ordered a set. That soft vinyl kit is a reissue of a garage kit from the 90s. I actually built one, many years ago. It's a great looking kit, but vinyl is a pain to work with. Eliminating the seams took forever. I also found this one on HLJ. It looks like they took that same kit and scaled it up, making it about 20 inches tall! https://www.hlj.com/mega-sofvi-gunbuster-kyd00107

It's an isolation transformer for the monitor. They're important on old CRT monitors to protect your PCB and prevent electrical shocks. Definitely keep it. Looks like a great project! And I'm glad you were able to find a replacement for that control panel!

1/72 F203 Dragon II Kit Proposal --Moscato Hobby
Valkyrie replied to captain america's topic in Model kits
Oh hell yea! I'm in for one! -
Damn, it looks like most of the parts in the kit aren't resin cast, but 3D printed on an FDM printer. I'm really not a fan of that method of production. FDM printed parts are a pain in the ass to sand to a smooth finish. Definitely not the kind of thing I'd like to see in a kit sold for $300.
