No matter how much I might like Fire Bomber, it's not going to make me vote for that abomination! :p

Though it was the least offensive of the SF valkyries.... agh, you still can't tempt me!

Voted for Alpha One, simply because its by far more memorable than the other 'regular' versions. <_<

Also voted for Omega One because I liked that whole controlled by brainwaves thingy, even though it was faulty and seemingly scrapped in the end.

I voted for the VF-19P. It's always been a favourite of mine, always thought it was one of the better looking production model versions of the 19. Too bad it gets so little screen time.

Also voted for the VF-22, though to be honest there is little enough visual difference between the two that I could go either way depending on how I feel at the moment. Of course, Gamlin's Diamond Force VF-22 is my favourite colour scheme to get any official screen time.

Actually, this poll kinda gets me thinking...I hope we see more mecah variety in Frontier before the series is over. Some 19's and 22's maybe? Possibly a VF-4 cameo, seeing as we've already seen a first generation Macross make an appearance.

Only way I see the possibility of seeing older VF's is if we get more flashbacks of the 117th. Possibly with a young Ozma piloting one...

Though you never know, if All that VF is what it holds up to be, then they certainly should have the models for it...

Voted for the VF-19A Excalibur because there are two color variants. YF-19 Alpha-one color scheme from Macross Digital Mission VFX, so the Alpha-one made it into production with the colors of the prototype. And the sky-blue VF-19A Excalibur in the Ravens Squadron.

I hated the look of the VF-19F/S/kai. The VF-19P was the closest to come to looking like the prototype and first production model.

VF-22 gets my vote in the 21/22 category because it can internally store the gunpods, can internally carry two reaction warheads, and I prefer the visor look of the head in battroid over the cyclops look (for once!).

How do you figure? Frontier takes place in 2059 and they're still using a variant of the VF-17, which is older than the 19 and 22.

The VF-11 Thunderbolt was in service for at least 16 years (2030-2046). If the VF-19 Excalibur and VF-22 Sturmvogel II were finally mass produced in 2046, that's only 13 years to 2059. The VF-19/VF-22 were also very advanced designs, so they'd likely have a longer service life than most other valkyries.

Anyway, back on topic, I chose the YF-19, though I could have easily picked the VF-19A Excalibur since the two are identical save for some minor weapon/engine differences. The original design still looks the best. I really dislike most of the changes they made in the VF-19 F/S/Custom series, except the head units and the colors for the F variant.

Well I suppose it's my pessimistic intuition speaking...

But really, I think the chances are rather slim. Also that variant of the VF-17 could be a very recent one, which is why it is favored over the 19 and 22.

(real world reasons aside, of course)... but i dunno, maybe one appears as a CF VF of Macross Galaxy

I thought everyone knew about that ages ago.

Clearly I was wrong. I always forget that I nerd out quite excessively.

BOMBA!

I still don't get it though....and i don't speak greek.

I know that much but the humour is lost on me.

"I am the alpha and the omega" - some bible verse.

It's from the book of revelations. and I don't get the joke either  It is kinda odd to have their designations be like that, why not "alpha" and "beta"?

Yikes! My post about having to know Greek was sarcastic...I don't see why the Alpha and Omega post was funny, either; and I assume that's because it's not funny.

Still...it gives me the chance to wonder why they called the YF-19 "Alpha One" in the OVA but "Eagle One" in the Movie Edtion...

That's what internet dangerous: any sarcastic jokes can turned into a fact by others if someone is not careful with their posts. Emoticons is your friends. ;)

And I think you are mistaken, Gubaba, on the YF-19's name. It's called "Alpha One" consistently in both version, and "Eagle One", which also appear in both version, is actually the call sign for Isamu when he rides a VF-11 for the YF-21's test flight. :)

Good point about Emoticons...but I rarely like to telegraph when I'm being ironic...tends to suck all the irony out of it. :p

I typed out the Plus Movie script for boinger a few months ago, and I swear that Alpha One was never mentioned in it. Oh well...I'll go back and check, but you owe me a pterosaur steak dinner if you're wrong.

Alright, you win. Guess my memory isn't the best thing to rely with. :p

Proof (from Macross Compendium)

I don't have the video with me now, but if anyone has a visual proof to proof the point, I always welcome. Just to make sure that Gubaba the Fire Bomber Fan and everyone else will be satisfied, that's all. :)
