THE UN-OFFICIAL COLOR SCHEME THREAD

Recommended Posts

That would be the one!!

Theres some nice angles on the link i provided with more modern versions of that, but thats basically it.

Note: as far as I can tell from what I've read, that all black F14D that they have is the LAST F-14 produced EVER. So thats it.

The scheme migrated nicely to the f-18 IMO.

Excellent work, Mon Capitan!!!

Just a little constructive criticism:

-I think the wing's shadow should be a tad wider, as it currently looks, it makes the wing look uber-skinny. I have this problem a lot as well, and you just need to keep fiddling with it. But the actual shading and technique is perfect.

-You should possibly add a bt of shadow along the underside of the fuselage and legs as well. That'll give a stronger effect of an overhead light source. Doing this, in conjunction with the wing's shadow, will really complete the effect.

Should the wing shadows appear on the ventral fins also as they are also longer than VF-1 wings ?

Nah.

What I sometimes do with the ventral fins is a gentle shading from top to bottom, since they are on the underside of the leg and the base of the fin will probably be somewhat shadowed.

But unless the wing is unusually large, I don't bother putting the wing shadow in the ventrals.

i totally agree!!!, i'm so jelouse of you... you really know how to use photoshop....

it would be very nice if you make a black of de VF-19S (Side)!!!!! my favorite VF!!

PD: sorry for my poor english

Thanks...and your english is fine. I think more people should try their own fanart. 6 months ago i don't even know how to use photoshop(and still learning as i go) and until about 1 month ago i can't do any shading. That excellent tutorial by Jeff Sorley is very helpful and the concepts can even be applied even if you use programs other than photoshop.

black of de VF-19S ?I assume you mean blank ?

I have one in the planning stage but just need time to complete it.

And I can wait to see your VF-19 Blank!!!! (je je)

That’s it… see ya!!!

Description: As the UN Spacy was eager to show off its newest valks the VF-3000G was selected as the next VF to fly displays with the Angel Birds. Despite operational problems with joint slippage the Angel Birds were not too concern as they did their displays in fighter mode.

However production of the Crusader was terminated after just a rather modest number of units(190~200 ?) and there never seem enough of them to go around. This coupled with field unit attriction and expensive maintenance cost mean after just 10 displays with the type the Angel Birds were forced to relinquish them and revert back to their trusty VF-1s before their eventual switch to the VF-4.

Been busy lately but here is my all new VF-11 scheme using the blank supplied by Nied. Next will be SVF-33 and a blank for the SAP.

Updated image.

Holy Crap!! That's from my blank? That's some great work hellohikaru!

Wow, maybe I should get into this photoshop thing......most of my work has been actually going in and coloring pixel by pixel (yah, I'm bored alot) with no shading in MS paint lol! Right now I've got a couple schemes of the Pheyos, the VF-0D and I'm working on several for the SV-51, but photoshop sounds a WHOLE LOT easier

*edit* Just looked at the price for Photoshop  Is this $600 program the same you're talking about? They have a link for a 30-day trial, but I'd rather have something more concrete
