I hope the vocal cds have the singoff track between Ranka and Sheryl from Ep15! Still one of the more memorable non-valk scenes in MF :)

That singoff is the second half of What 'bout My Star at Formo on OST1. Not saying it would be bad to see it on the vocal CDs, just saying it's already represented. I'm more looking forward to weird things like a full version of Sheryl's Aimo, or her version of Brother Spaceship or whatever it's called, that haven't seen CD release.

That wasn't really a vocal track, though, was it? Seemed to me like it was just the main track with all of the main instruments and melody stripped off...

I do hope it's on OST 4...which they have to make. They just HAVE to...we NEED to have the "Miss Macross Techno Theme." ^_^

I currently don't have a rip of the version with the "Mottekke!", but if you play that song link, and about 5 seconds in you sing "Mottekke!", I think that's the one with Sheryl flying Michael's VF.

I'm still hoping for a BGM only album, or at least an album with BGM :p

Does any of the members here in Japan watch the "Tokudane" wide-show on weekday mornings? Today, I was watching its coverage of yesterday's election results, and most of the BGM used on the footage was from Macross Frontier! It was funny to hear Obama's "Yes we can!" speech along to Yoko Kanno's triumphant orchestrations, and during the footage of Obama's family they played some of the softer melodies. I can't remember any of the track titles, but I know which ones they were so when I look them up I'll let you all know. It was pretty funny though.

Im assuming number 18 is Ranka DYRL full version. Deculture edition = too short. If so, WIN!

Also number 20 Aimo by Maaya is the Aimo version that I like so another WIN.

IIRC it was out with Ranka single "Seikan Hikou", it was released few months ago.

That's weird, my disc only has Seikan Hikou, Neko Nikki, Ai Oboete Imasuka (Deculture size), Watashi no Kare wa Pilot, & the off vocal versions of Seikan Hikou & Ai Oboete Imasuka. Was it a first press thing?

Don't worry, you didn't miss it. They released cellphone-only downloadable versions when "Saikan Hikou" came out. The CDs are coming out December 24:

Sheryl's Space Brother Ship (by Sheryl Nome and Bobby Margot)

Ranka and Bobby's SMS Song (by, um, Ranka and Bobby)

No tracklists yet, though.

Just when I thought these soundtracks were finally starting to dry up. Scarrier yet still, I wonder how many they'll pull for the movie.

I wonder if they will release character sound as well :huh: And for the Movie, I bet its gonna use several old and new sondtrack as well, just like what they did when they make DYRL. SDF:M the movie (DYRL) got its own hit song (ai oboeteimasuka), probably MF the Movie will also feature their own unuqie hit song which are not depicted in the TV series.

Btw, I wonder if Maaya will be involved further on the movie?

Quick news!!! Maaya Sakamoto will cover (well, a self-cover since she wrote the lyrics in the first place) Ao no Ether for her new album Kaze Yomi!!! *dances*

You mean Ao no ether was composed by Maaya and Yoko? You have the track listing for her new album, I'm just wandering if some "stuff" are in it ^_^

The roles in making a song as far as I know are:

Composer: Makes the melody

Arranger: Chooses the instruments / singers

Lyricist: The one who writes the lyrics

Performers: The ones who play the instruments / singers

Kanno is primarily a composer and arranger, occasionally writing lyrics under *ahem* Gabriela Robin. For Ao no Ether, Maaya is the one who wrote the lyrics to the song :)

We don't have a full track list yet, but so far, here's what's been revealed (still waiting for more announcements):
