It's rough and I haven't gone over it too much, but here is a translation of the first 36 pages. Boxes: Once there was a war against a race of giants called the Zentradi. After having experienced its first interstellar war, humanity began to journey through outer space in search of new worlds. Thus, the 11th grand emigration fleet, "Macross Frontier," was confronted with a new enemy... Sheryl: Hey, you over there! Ranka: Yes? Sheryl: I just want to ask you something, would you happen to know where Mihoshi Academy is? p3 Woman: The emergency declaration that has been in effect since yesterday's battle has been lifted, so we continue by presenting this week's [Deculture Lunch]. Alto: Hmph...guess I'll go. (doorbell rings) p4 Ozuma: Hey, Saotome Alto-kun. Alto: Who are you? Ozuma: Can you figure it out if I said yesterday's "armored..."? Alto: Wha...!! p5 Ozuma: Transfering from Mihoshi Academy's Drama course to its Pilot course as a second year and already ranked second, pretty impressive. Alto: What about you, you're probably the ace of the "Shintougougun" (some sort of special forces I think), since you're piloting the still being tested VF-25. Ozuma: You need to study some more kid, I'm not with the "Shintougougun," [side text: You aren't wrong about the ace part, though.] I'm with S.M.S. We're a PMF (Private military Farm) that does special missions and tests new units for the military. Though our front is that of a shipping company. p6 Alto: You've got some incredible equipment. Ozuma: That's cause we have a big sponsor. Well, we're here. Alto: What do you want with me anyw... p7 Alto: This is...from that time... Ozuma: Gulliam's (no idea what his name is) dead. You must have seen his end. Those that are still alive have to hear about how he fought and died from the one who witnessed it, that's how it is with us. p8 Alto: He...sav... (this is a little unclear, but this is what I assume he was about to say) Michael: A...Alto?! Alto: Michele...Luca... p9 Alto: What are you guys doing here... Michael: What about you!! You're the one who's reporting on Gilliam-san!? Luca: So, Sempai was the one in the VF-25... SMS guy: What? You guys know him? Ozuma: He's also a student at Mihoshi Academy. Since he transfered midway, he missed the selection process. Announcement: Mission Code [Victor]. Repeat. Mission Code- p10 Ozuma: Damn, this has to wait! Skull Squadron prepare for engagement! Luca/Michael: Roger! Alto: What...they...in Valkyries!? Commander: Men, the enemies are the survivors from yesterday! Exhibit your abilities in a way that will leave no regrets! p11 Alto thoughts: Luca and Michele can do it. Then even I... Alto: Hey! Please let me pilot a Valkyrie!! p12 Ozuma: Quite spewing poo! Someone throw that fool outside! p13 Michael: Alto, we've been flying for over a year longer than you have. I understand what you are thinking, but this isn't a place for you use as an excuse to leave home. Since you saw Gilliam's death, you should understand. Alto: That's not it...I...! I... p14 Sheryl: Hmmmm, you really like "Sheryl" that much. Ranka: Well, she's wonderful. Her singing is incredible and so is her dancing. She's so self-confident and talented that you can see it! Sheryl: Fufuun (noise she's making because her ego is being stroked). [side text: She's really incredible, Sheryl is.] Isn't there anything else that you really like about her? Ranka: Umm...yeah...and... Sheryl: And? Ranka: And I really like how she sometimes says more than she should in her interviews. Sheryl: Hahaha. Really... p15 Ranka: But, I really admire her...even if it is only once, I'd like to be like that. But I know it won't happen. Sheryl: You're aiming for that as well? Becoming an idol? Ranka: For someone like me? No way, I don't have any talent. Shery: Talent, hmmm... p16 Ranka: No way...Sheryl... Alto: This song... Sheryl: I don't want my song to be ended by "talent" (I'm not really sure how to translate what she's trying to say here) p17 Sheryl: And I'm not sure your appeal and talent can really be measured. "Sheryl" says this, so there can be no mistake. Ranka: Huuuh? I... Alto: Hey! What are you two doing! The enemy's coming! Hurry and get out of here! Ranka: Alto-kun. Sheryl: Aha! p18 Sheryl: I've been looking for you! Saotome Alto! Return my earing immediately! Alto: Huh!? Sheryl: You took one of my earings when you flew into me yesterday, didn't you! Chapter 3 will be released with the next issue of Shonen Ace, on sale in Japan on February 26. As soon as I get my hands on it, I'll start scanning. Unless I'm really lucky and snag one of the early airmail copies, I probably won't get me hands on it until end of the first week of March though.
